Maureen Williams


After attending Brooklyn College, Maureen became a personal banker, customer service and client relations professional at multiple institutions in West Africa and the Eastern United States.


For over 30 years, she worked at large banks such as Chase Manhattan and its predecessors, Ecobank and SunTrust Bank.

In 2014, she founded her own real estate consulting venture, Lake Overlook Partners LLC. Soon thereafter, she started investing in New York City distressed properties.


Her early success led to Brownstone NYC Inc, her family led real estate business. After investing millions of dollars of private equity funding into the rapidly recovering New York area Real Estate market, Maureen has assembled a portfolio of moderate-income housing throughout New York City and Westchester County.


Today, dozens of families live in quality BNYC developed and owned housing.  She is leading the next company growth phase which includes but is not limited to building a robust vertically integrated real estate venture with a social enterprise bent.

Martin Assoumou

Acting Chief Operating Officer

A graduate of Columbia University (1975), New York, and of Bowdoin College (1973), Brunswick, Maine, NGoran ASSOUMOU, worked for more than twenty years in international trade, first in oil trading and later in trade promotion.


As Trading Manager in the London office of Chevron International Oil Trading Company, he helped refineries and national oil companies of West Africa from Sierra Leone to DRC (ex Zaire) meet their oil requirements.


Later, acting as Operations Manager of APEX-CI (Côte d’Ivoire’s National Export Promotion Agency) he managed a World Bank funded export assistance program. In that capacity, he helped small businesses gain access to international markets by providing training and information.


Mr ASSOUMOU continues to work with international oil companies and traders as a consultant, helping them develop new activities in Africa. He most recently worked with Vitol (2001 to 2008) to develop their activities in Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina, etc.


N. ASSOUMOU is the author of a personal development book  titled  « Le succès à votre portée; » (How to make your dreams come true) published in 2001.


Schelton Assoumou

Managing Director

Mr. Schelton Assoumou has over 20 years of investment banking, private equity, entrepreneurship, real estate development and investing.  Schelton holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Harvard Business School and bachelor degrees in both Business Administration and Economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

A wall street veteran, Mr Assoumou was an investment banker at JP Morgan where he amassed over 10 years of experience in investment coverage, structured finance, capital markets and leveraged finance and was responsible for the execution of over $25 billion of lead-managed ABS transactions and the origination, execution and marketing of over $9 billion of high yield bond offerings and leveraged loan syndications.

For the last 12 years, he has been involved in the strategic planning, business development and operations of every facet of real estate industry such as acquisitions, valuation, construction, financing, property management and sales.  He has successfully navigated through challenging personal and enterprise turnaround and repositioning of over 120 distressed New York area assets totaling over $80 million in renovated value. 

More recently, through his own ventures ZOPA Consulting and Third Level Ventures, Schelton has been consulting with several small and middle market real estate ventures such as Brownstone NYC. Furthermore, he has been helping people who otherwise would have limited access to affordable housing. He has been working with several nonprofit organizations such as the Abyssinian Development Corporation in Harlem and Because Everyone Deserves Shelder, Inc (BEDS) which started out as transitional housing program in Brooklyn for men going from shelters to independent living to those recently released from prison.

Peter Drinkwater

Sales Manager

Peter Drinkwater joined Brownstone NYC in the spring of 2014. Serving the company as Operations Manager & Senior Associate in the Investment Sales Department, Mr. Drinkwater is responsible for executing the sale of real estate transactions throughout the New York metro region. 


With previous experience in contracting and real estate administration, Mr. Drinkwater divided his time between both Estimator and Analyst roles. He is a graduate of Longwood University, where he received a B.S. with a concentration in Marketing and received a Graduate Certificate in Real Estate Finance & Investment from NYU-SCPS.

Mr. Drinkwater has vast experience in valuations, investment analysis, acquisitions and dispositions having successfully acquired and sold of $30 million worth of real estate in New York City.


Miranda Rampaul

Transaction Coordinator

Ms. Rampaul has over 16 years in the Real Estate industry as a Paralegal with various Law Firms in New York City. Ms. Rampaul's experience ranges from acquisition, resale, bank closing, short sale negotiations, title review, title clearance, criminal and immigration law


Ms. Rampaul over saw 12 rental properties at The Shiponi Law firm with responsibilities ranging from Property Management, Banking and Quality control. Ms. Rampaul's  16 years of Real Estate experience and knowledge  adds to firm value at Brownstone NYC.


Stephane Assoumou

Project Manager

Mr. Assoumou has over 15 years of management experience. 

Mr Assoumou attended Howard University studying Business Management.


He was the Assistant Sales Manager at Best Buy where he was consecutively awarded the top sales person award for the Mid- Atlantic area (Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, along with the parts of New Jersey, New York, and North Carolina that drain into the Delaware). 


He was the Assistant Manager at Six Flags where managed over 500 people.


Now He applies his expertise and experience gained as a manager at Brownstone NYC. Mr. Assoumou has a home improvement license in Westchester county, Nassau County and New Yorck City. He also has lead inspection certificate in New York State.


He plays an instrumental role in the strategic investments in  Westchester County, primarily Mount Vernon where he has gained significant influence in the Westchester Department of Buildings, Tax Department and Insurance Agency.


Monica Jannack

Property Manager

Ms. Jannack has over 20 years of management experience that ranges from fixed asset management, pay roll management, and inventory management.

Prior to joining Brownstone NYC, she was the Assistant Finance Manager at the regional branch at Guysuco Sugar Estate in Guyana, South America.  Where she was responsible for the over all management of fixed assets (valuation, depreciation, classification and disposal). She was also responsible for Payroll management (preparation, deductions, payments, bank transfers) and inventory management (purchasing, receiving, and shipping of inventory)

Gustavo Dominguez

Chief Investment Officer, AdCap

Gustavo Dominguez is a financial services veteran with over 25 years of experience in trading and portfolio management of fixed income and derivatives instruments in emerging and developed markets.

Prior to joining AdCap, Mr. Dominguez was a portfolio manager and member of the investment committee of Gottex Fund Management, where he managed a  Global Macro Trading fund of funds,  an Asia multi-strategy portfolio, as well as co-managed a US$ 3.5 billion portfolio of Asset Based Lending and Real Assets direct transactions.

Previously, he was a Managing Director in the Emerging Markets Division of J.P. Morgan in charge of the Americas business, the Emerging Markets global proprietary books, and chaired the EM Global Risk Committee. Until December 2000, Mr. Dominguez was Global Head of Risk taking for the International Fixed Income Division of Chase Manhattan Bank, covering non US fixed income markets and structured businesses Globally, and the proprietary and market making client books.

Prior to joining Chase in 1994, he was Co-Head of Mortgage Backed Securities Trading at J.P. Morgan and also ran US dollar interest rate options trading within the US dollar derivatives business.

Mr. Dominguez holds a Bachelor degree and Doctorate in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires.


Nvalaye Kourouma

Chief Digital Officer RoA, Barclays Africa Group Limited

Mr. Kourouman is an entrepreneurial international executive with experience leading digital financial services innovation and transformation in global banks and fintech start-ups.


Extensive management experience with The Coca-Cola Company, Citigroup and Standard Chartered Bank. Strategic thinker with a focus on driving result. MBA Harvard Business School with 1st Year Honor (Top 10% of the class).

Successfully developed, launched and managed various emerging digital products and channels: mobile wallet, mobile money, P2P, bill payment, money transfer, mobile/online banking, ecommerce and mcommerce.


Amadou Sanankoua 

Managing Director, OnPoint Africa Group

Amadou is the Founder and Managing Director of OnPoint Africa Group, a strategy consulting firm based in Paris, Chicago and Mauritius but with a focus on Africa.

Prior to Onpoint Africa, Amadou spent 10 years with the Boston Consulting Group, where he was a Principal in their Chicago Office. There his functional  focus was on corporate development, merger & acquisitions support, and operational turnarounds. His industry focus included Industrial Goods, Consumer packaged goods and private equity fund portfolio companies. In North america, Brazil, and the EMEA region.

Prior to BCG, Amadou was an engineering trainee with Honneywell Building Control systems division. There he supported senior engineers in the development of HVAC controls systems for commercial applications.

Amadou holds a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University, and an MBA in Entrepreneurial management and Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvannia


Frank Mercado

Managing Director, Fair Market Value Consultants

At the age of fifteen, Mercado-Valdes became the Florida Junior Olympic boxing champion, and won the state’s Golden Gloves Lightweight Championship in 1979. He graduated from Coral Gables Senior High School in 1980, and received his A.A. degree in political science from Miami-Dade Community College in 1983. Mercado-Valdes went on to earn his B.S. degree in political science from the University of Miami in 1985. 


Mercado-Valdes secured the weekend syndication rights of the popular police drama New York Undercover, making The African Heritage Network the first minority-owned company to purchase a major network series for syndication. In 1997, Mercado-Valdes also purchased the rights to Kensington Publishing Group’s Arabesque Books, the first and only African American romance book line. In 2002, Mercado-Valdes developed the televisions shows The Source: All Access, based on the popular hip-hop magazineThe Source, and N’Gear, a behind-the-scenes look at urban fashions, designers, and models. 

In 2003, Mercado-Valdes secured syndication and production rights for Showtime at the Apollo. He resigned from The Heritage Network in 2004, and served as the chief strategic officer for Soul of the South Television from 2011 to 2014. Mercado-Valdes became the managing director of Fair Market Value Consultants and the executive director of San Juan Hill Partners in 2016.


David Boaretto

Chief Executive Officer,  Chaocorp Développement 

David Boaretto brings a versatile experience with a career spanning over 20 years in the legal world, in finance and in the art world.


He is the CEO and on the board of several film investment funds, a gallery director with the Sarti Gallery, a leading gallery in the art world specialised in 14th to 18th century Italian paintings and sculptures based in Paris and a Film Producer with Radical Films, a film production company based in Los Angeles.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Business and Contract law from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas (Magistère Juriste d’Affaires - DJCE) and an MBA from ESSEC Business School.


David previously worked in M&A at Merrill Lynch.


Bruno Surpris

Senior Manager,


Mr. Surpris has over 17 years of professional experience in the Information Technology field. In addition to being the President of his IT consulting firm, he is a Director in the IT Quality Assurance Department at Healthfirst, an $8 Billion Managed Care Company based in New York City.


Prior to this role he was the Assistant Vice President in charge of the Test Environment Management Group (TEMG) at Moody’s Corporation, a major institutional credit rating agency. 

Mr. Surpris has held various roles in the Information Technology field such as systems implementation consultant, application support, application development, and application support management. He began his career at Deloitte & Touche where he implemented customized system solutions for various clients. He subsequently held various technical and leadership roles at McKinsey & Company, AIG, Fortress Investment Group, Barclays Capital, and JP Morgan where he was the Vice President of Private Equity Technology.

Mr. Surpris has a Bachelors in Finance and Information Systems and an MBAin Operations Management and Information Systems from NYU Stern School of Business


Verona Lalbahadur

Admin and Construction Coordinator

Ms. Lalbahadur joined Brownstone NYC in August 2017. Since then her role involves the preparation of purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department. Obtaining purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders. 

Ms. Lalbahadur facilitates the streamlining of the renovation operations that enables productivity. 


Kamla Doodnauth

Accounts Payable

Ms. Doodnauth has over 12 years of experience in administration. Her experience spans from bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable to the general administration of day to day activities.

Ms. Doodnauth also manages the payments made for daily operations. Ms. Doodnauth manages the utility accounts (gas, electric, and water).
